Many of the roofs on the buildings in Kolmanskop have been stripped to the rafters, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across the sand below. In this image, the open structure allows sunlight to fall directly into the room, casting linear shadows that echo the geometry of the remaining architecture. The contrast between the soft, wind-shaped sand and the rigid lines of the building highlights the gradual surrender of the structure to the desert.

Shadows in the sand is available as a 24 x 36 cm print in a signed, limited edition of 10. It is printed on 300 gsm cotton rag Fotospeed paper with a Canon professional printer. It can be purchased unframed or framed. The images here are framed with 3 cm black wood and measure 46 x 57 cm. Unframed images come mounted on a soft white board.

Shadows in the sand is available as a single image, or with Repeated arches and Shadow play as a framed or unframed set.
