The buildings of Kolmanskop incorporate many architectural features that were popular in German design at the beginning of the 20th century, including arched doorways and painted friezes. Remarkably, many of these ornate details remain today and have aged gracefully. Here, a sequence of aligned arches draws the eye through the building, while the warning sign — ‘Beware: unstable ceilings’ — offers a quiet reminder of its underlying fragility.
I am offering Repeated Arches as a 24 x 36 cm print in a limited edition of 10. It is printed on 300 gsm cotton rag Fotospeed paper with a Canon professional printer and can be purchased unframed or framed.
Repeated arches is available as a single image, or with Shadows in the sand and Shadow play as a framed or unframed set.
