The southeastern corner of the Czech Republic is often referred to as ‘Moravian Tuscany’, a landscape of rolling farmland shaped by centuries of agriculture and its resemblance to the hills of central Italy. The region is particularly striking in spring, when fields of barley, wheat and rapeseed form a patchwork of colour across the land.

This image was photographed at sunset, when low light defines the contours of the hills and casts long shadows across the fields. A lone tree stands apart from the surrounding farmland, its form emphasised by the soft light and the uniform green of the barley fields around it.

Lone Tree in a Green Sea is available as a 60 by 35 cm print in a signed, limited series of 10. It is printed on 300 gsm smooth cotton Fotospeed paper and can be purchased unframed or framed.
