The South Downs form a landscape of rolling chalk hills along the southeastern coast of England, where a long history of farming has shaped both the land and its patterns. These chalk-based soils support a rich mix of plant life, while also lending themselves to intensive arable farming.
This image was photographed in spring, when the rapeseed is in full bloom. Fields of gold and green follow the contours of the hills, creating a layered composition that emphasises both the underlying geology and the agricultural rhythms that define the landscape.
Fields of Gold & Green is available as a 55 by 40 cm print in a signed, limited eidition of 10. It is printed on 300 gsm smooth cotton Fotospeed paper and can be purchased unframed or framed. T
